As used on the Windows Desktop Administration site, Software Deployment is the process of taking software received in an installable form (such as a “setup.exe” or MSI file) and pushing that software out to computers on a network without physically visiting those PCs. It can involve tools such as LANDesk, Altiris, and the like, or it can simply be a script running on the administrator’s PC that pushes the software out directly to machines on the LAN.
